Free to Be Woodland Education

September 8, 2021 at 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

£10.00
Woodland skills services

We aim to create a safe and secure environment in which young people can explore, learn new skills, make new friends, whilst developing a deeper connection with the natural world around them and feel free to just be!

These sessions will follow the Forest School ethos and are therefore very much child led, with the group being encouraged to develop their own aims  and interests for the autumn sessions.

Activities may include:

  • habitat creation, ecology, woodland maintenance skills, mapping
  • knife & tool skills
  • natural arts and crafts ; spoons to jewellery
  • tree id, uses and folklore
  • natural tinders and fire skills
  • outdoor cooking and basic foraging
  • storytelling
  • free play and exploration
  • Lots of team working !

Our Free to Be sessions are drop off sessions for home educated young people aged 8 – 15 years.

We ask that you come dressed appropriately and prepared for all sorts of weathers. Sensible footwear is essential as there will be walking over uneven terrain.

We do have compost loos and hand washing  on site.
